Aspire, the Void City

Aspire, the Void City

Though technically its own plane, Aspire is named 'the Void City' both because it is as close to 'home' for Radiant Swords as such beings can have, and because for the most part it resembles nothing more than a massive ruined city. In the great scheme of things, Aspire is cosmology's sieve; all the taint and debris from any outside influence filter through Aspire to be swept up, leaving the Once-Was free of such physioemotional pressure.

Consequently, things from other realities can be found here; amidst its vast and sprawling ruins, Radiant Swords might stumble on valuable resources, familiar haunts, or baggage from their old lives they had no idea would come here. Whether such things appear here or have always been here, just not found, is an open question. Radiant Swords definitely tend to find things related to their memories or their realities more often than otherwise, but perhaps that is simply because they recognize them? Anything that existed somewhere can exist here. Given that Aspire seems to be effectively limitless, perhaps it all does exist here.

Except life. Nothing lives in Aspire.

The State of Aspire

    Globe Station

The 'center' of Aspire, Globe Station is the hub of Radiant Sword activity. New Radiant Swords typically awaken here for the first time, and the station contains everything a Radiant Sword 'needs' to exist, presuming one's definition of 'need' is hilariously minimalistic.

Bleak and oppressive, Globe Station is primarily the browns and greys of rusted and dirty metal, with no color to speak of and no comfort anywhere. Though big enough to accommodate hundreds, much of it has collapsed or decayed with time.

The Globe: The means of transport between Aspire and the Once-Was, the Globe is the centerpiece of Globe Station. A huge sphere that reflects the Once-Was in realtime, it rotates based on the will and whim of the person on the control platform, allowing them to look over the surface and choose where to go. A Radiant Sword need only touch the Globe to be immediately transported to that spot on the Once-Was's surface. (There is, of course, accommodation for intent of the traveler, since the scale is so dramatically wrong.)

The Rejuvenators: Radiant Swords who have been injured, exhausted, depleted, or otherwise driven to the brink of collapse need only enter a Rejuvenator. In moments, the machine floods the Radiant Sword's core with elemental energy, restoring them to peak capacity...

      Transportation

      None.
