Character Questions
My character is a Radiant Sword? What does that mean?
Please read the Radiant Sword page first! It will explain much and answer many of your questions.
What arrives with my character?
Nothing. As your character themselves is technically only a construct of energy and will, they'll appear to have suitable clothing, but it's simply a part of their being. No actual items come with them.
Are powers nerfed? Or lost?
Mostly yes, sort of no? Your character's powers and abilities are replaced by their Radiant Sword abilities, but their old powers and abilities are the mental foundation on which those powers are based. So a Fire Sword who could throw bolts of fire in life is probably going to throw bolts of fire in the game, while finding a wall of fire a more difficult prospect to manifest. A Water Sword who could throw bolts of fire in life is... probably going to throw bolts of water. How it all works is ultimately up to you, but the psychological imprint of what your character used to be able to do will be a huge determinant in what they can do now. And every Radiant Blade is basically equal to every other one before spent Elemental Energy is taken into account.
My character is dead. Can I still app them?
My character has a weird need or condition! How do I handle that?
Strictly speaking, they don't any more. The bodies of Radiant Swords are just so much energy and willpower. So if it's easier and better for you, just write it off entirely. On the other hand, psychology is a massive determinant in how Radiant Swords behave, so if you want to keep their need, condition, or quirk as a purely psychological requirement, you can do that as well so long as it won't cause extensive setting or character trouble. Vampirism, for example, couldn't make a good psychological condition, because the issue of needing to drink the blood of others is too thorny to easily handle. (For one, none of the Radiant Swords technically have blood.) So a character could still feel a desire to do so, but not a mental compulsion so strong failing to obey it would result in psychosomatic death.
Setting Questions
How does the network work?
Every Radiant Sword can communicate with any other Radiant Sword simply by concentration. They may direct this communication to any number of other Swords, and may ignore or refuse communications they don't want. Communications aren't saved or recorded in any way, and though it may involve more than two people there's no way to intercept or overhear communications.
What language are we speaking?
Radiant Swords can communicate with any being that has a language, so as far as you know, it's whatever language your character speaks.
